Million Dollar Donation Establishes the Schiller Foundation Economics Scholarship
October 17, 2025
Lake Tahoe Community College (LTCC) is proud to announce the launch of the Bradley R. Schiller Foundation Economics Scholarship, a new award supporting LTCC students transferring to four-year universities to study economics.
Established through the generosity of distinguished economist, educator, and author Dr. Bradley R. Schiller, the scholarship provides up to $10,000 per year for two years to help students complete their bachelor’s degrees.
Dr. Schiller is the author of several leading economics textbooks, including The Economy Today and The Economics of Poverty and Discrimination, used by colleges and universities around the world. With this scholarship, he hopes to inspire future economists to explore how economic principles shape communities and improve lives.
“Education opens doors to opportunity and to understanding,” said Dr. Schiller. “This scholarship is meant to help LTCC students see how economics connects to everyday life and support their continued success.”
Applications for the 2025–2026 academic year will open in Spring 2025 through the LTCC Foundation.
