LTCC Women's Soccer to Return in 2027-28

Lake Tahoe Community College (LTCC) will not field a women's soccer team for the 2026-27 season. The break gives the athletics department time to recruit players over the next nine months, with a new, stronger team taking the field for the 2027-28 season.

An abrupt coaching change late in the previous season, including Jeremy Evans's departure to the University of Nevada, Reno, left too little time to build a full roster this fall.

The coaching staff has since turned its attention to recruiting, reaching out to prospective players across the region for a competitive 2027-28 season.

LTCC has also brought in Chris Deleon as interim athletic director through December. Deleon played a key role in launching the college's original soccer program and brings firsthand knowledge of what it takes to build it back better. The college is moving quickly on a permanent hire and plans to post the athletic director position by early October.

While the women's program focuses on recruitment, men's soccer is ready to go. New Head Coach Carlos Trujeque Leal has the team prepared for a full 2026-27 season, and excitement around the program is high. Check out @tahoeccsoccer on Instagram for all the action.
