Parking Rules and Regulations

Effective October 1, 2025, Lake Tahoe Community College enforces Permit Parking in some locations on District property. This is to help ensure equitable access to limited spaces and to support the safety and organization of our growing campus.

Overnight parking has select rows where cars are required to park. Please visit the security desk next to the library for more information.

Parking Permits & Enforcement

Parking permits are required only in designated areas on campus. These include:

  • The third row of the main parking lot, reserved for Residential Housing students
  • Four clearly marked Res Life permit-only spaces near the residence hall
  • Two special permit spaces located near campus buildings

All other campus parking remains free and open without a permit at this time. ** Please note the overnight parking information below.

Parking in a permit-only space without a valid permit will result in a $35 citation. LTCC Security issues citations under the authority of the California Vehicle Code.

Overnight Parking

Overnight parking is allowed in the back row closest to the athletic field and the physical education (PE) building with an approved permit. Parking overnight in this row is an option from the center walkway to the PE building. Permits can be requested from the Security department.

Residential Student Parking

Residential students are required to purchase a parking permit to use the designated housing parking areas.

Permit purchasing instructions and pricing details will be provided by Student Housing staff.
For questions, please contact John Shore, Director of Residential Life.

Firelane Restrictions

No parking is allowed in fire lane zones on campus, and tickets will be issued for parking in these locations. Fire lanes are designated through signage or a red curb.
