Board Resolution on George Floyd

June 10, 2020

The Lake Tahoe Community College Board of Trustees is committed to serving all students who can benefit from a postsecondary education and supporting students, faculty, staff, and the larger Lake Tahoe community equitably. The death of George Floyd and the many incidents of violence against black Americans that preceded it requires that LTCC take a stand in solidarity with the black community and other people of color.

The Board adopted the following resolution condemning the death and affirming a commitment to stand together against institutional racism and systemic oppression. The proposed resolution was drafted by staff under the direction of and in consultation with Board Chair Nancy Dalton.
