Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for Main Building Front Entrance, Plaza

November 7, 2023

Students, staff, faculty and community members are all welcome to celebrate the official reopening of Lake Tahoe Community College’s Main Building front entrance and courtyard plaza on Wednesday, Nov. 8 with a reception between 9am-10am. Pastries, donuts, coffee and juice will be served.

Many of LTCC’s students and newer employees have never walked through the Main Building front doors. On Nov. 8, staff and students are welcome to join senior leadership as the group walks through the front entrance together. A photographer will be on hand to take individual and group photos of the first walk-through of the front entrance, and staff and students can also pose and have their pictures taken in front of the new LTCC signage outside in the plaza. These photos will be publicly available soon to download for free.

This construction project is part of the larger Remodel for Efficiency (RFE) project that has touched so much of the Main Building and its student services offices, technology labs, science and art wings, and more.

Since 2020, students and staff have used the library building entrance to enter and exit campus. With the Main Building front entrance project completed, all students, staff, campus visitors and community members can more efficiently get from the Main Parking lot located in front of the library building to the Main Building Commons, which connects with most of the learning spaces, classrooms, and student service areas on campus.
