Coyote Kickoff Welcomes Students Back to Campus

September 17, 2025

Lake Tahoe Community College officially rang in the new academic year with its annual Coyote Kickoff celebration on Friday, September 12, on the Library Plaza. The event brought together new and returning students, faculty, and staff for a fun and resource-filled afternoon designed to set the stage for a successful Fall Quarter.

From free food and games to a lively DJ set and photo booth, the Kickoff created a festive atmosphere where students could reconnect with friends, meet new classmates, and get familiar with the many opportunities available at LTCC.

In addition to the fun, Kickoff also connected students with essential campus resources. Representatives from counseling, financial aid, enrollment services, IT, and more were on hand to answer questions and help students prepare for their first day of classes. Student clubs and faculty from LTCC’s meta-majors shared ways to get involved both academically and socially. Campus tours were also available, giving new Coyotes a chance to explore the campus and feel at home before the quarter officially began.

“This event is about more than just free food and music,” said LTCC President Jeff DeFranco. “It’s about creating a welcoming space where students know they belong and have the support they need to succeed.”

Coyote Kickoff continues to be a highlight of the academic year and an important tradition at LTCC. Thank you to all of the volunteers, staff, and student leaders who helped make this year’s event a success—and to all of our students, welcome to Fall Quarter 2025!
