Distance Education
Classes identified as Distance Education (DE) in LTCC’s course schedule are traditional online courses that provide flexibility for students who are adept at setting and keeping their own work pace. While DE classes do provide some structure, they often have no specific class meeting days or times, allowing students to tackle their classwork on their own schedules. LTCC’s DE classes typically were originally structured from the beginning to be online classes – they are not formerly face-to-face classes redeveloped for virtual learning.
While DE classes offer a great deal of flexibility and convenience coupled with high-quality instruction, they also require students to provide their own self-motivation and self-reliance. Classwork is typically required to be done on students’ own time, without direct faculty supervision. If you are organized and good at planning, DE classes could be perfect for you!
