Earth & Environmental Sciences

Coursework in the Earth & Environmental Sciences at Lake Tahoe Community College is for students who are interested in solving problems from an interdisciplinary perspective.

Understand the relationships between the natural and social sciences by using the scientific methods of observation, experimentation, and analysis. Deepen your knowledge of the natural world, and gain hands-on experience with advanced scientific tools. Understand the scientific basis for environmental decision making and the legal, economic, and political issues involved in management of the environment.

Many courses emphasize exploration and the study of Lake Tahoe, a natural lab of outstanding beauty and richness. Coursework is designed to align with the major prep and transfer requirements at a variety of institutions. Students are encouraged to meet with a LTCC counselor to ensure that course and degree selections align with the specific transfer requirements of each institution.
