LTCC Cybersecurity Student Graduates Gets Hired
October 31, 2025
Lake Tahoe Community College student Andy Lind graduated from the Cyber Security Program
with an Associate’s Degree after attending and working as a student intern in LTCC’s
Information Technology Department. LTCC ultimately hired Andy in the same department and has continued to show a strong
commitment to sharing opportunities in the cyber field with others.
In the spring, Andy attended LTCC’s Cybersecurity Advisory meeting, where data on enrollments and labor market information was shared. The advisory discussed ways to engage more high school students interested in Cyber Security and how to provide more opportunities for current students. At the meeting, NFN DEP shared information about regional and national cyber competitions open to both high school and community college students. These competitions provide a bridge to area high schools and offer enriching experiences to LTCC students.
Andy acted immediately. With support from LTCC’s CTE Department and Work Experience faculty and staff, he entered a national cyber competition and ranked in the top 200. He also launched a Cyber Security Club on campus. “LTCC and the opportunities here really changed my life, and I hope to keep it going for others,” Andy shared.
LTCC’s Cyber Security Club, advised by Andy, includes an officer team: Club President Alec Franklin, Vice President Zach Norman, Treasurer Emerson Ramirez, and Secretary Lorcan Delong, along with active student members on campus. The club meets regularly and provides practice sessions for students interested in competition. Recently, the club established a connection with a well-established cybersecurity club at CSU San Bernardino.
“We look forward to seeing the fellowship and what may come from the alignment across campuses—ultimately connecting high schools, LTCC, and four-year colleges like San Bernardino, which hosts apprenticeships in Cyber Security leading to employment,” said Alena Anberg, Director of Employer Partnerships. “We can’t say enough great things about Andy and his initiative,” said CTE Dean Brad Deeds. “It has been rewarding to support the club and see it launch for students here on campus. It is the beginning of the vision we shared together with our advisory coming to fruition!”
