I Am... An Online Student

Online Student

Online education at Lake Tahoe Community College is convenient, high quality, and can provide the flexibility you need for your busy life. Classes are available in a variety of formats for different needs. Some virtual courses feel a whole lot like a face-to-face class, with lots of interaction, structure, and hands-on faculty availability. Others provide students with more independence and flexibility to accomodate busy schedules. Some degrees and certificates at LTCC can even be earned entirely online!

EVE classes are offered online, but they provide a lot of the interaction and support you'd find in a typical face-to-face class. EVE classes typically include more discussion and interaction with other students and faculty, and offer some synchronous work activities.

DE classes are traditional online courses that require students to be organized and self-driven to succeed. These classes are very flexible and convenient for busy students, allowing them to often set their own pace and schedules.

A number of Associate of Art degrees, certificates, and short-term vocational certificates can be earned entirely online!

Due in part to the increased popularity of distance education, many states have prescribed an “authorization” process for out-of-state institutions delivering online programs to its state residents. States are attempting through these processes to ensure quality post-secondary education, to preserve the integrity of an academic degree and to instill greater consumer protection for their student citizens. Please read LTCC's policy on State Authorization of Distance Education Outside of California to see if your state is on LTCC's list of approved states
