Sarah Harmon
Since 2022, Sarah has been an integral part of the ISSI team, initially joining as an instructor and later taking on the role of Academic Coordinator for the 2022-23 academic year. With a deep passion for teaching, Sarah finds joy in guiding students on their journey of self-expression through various linguistic skills. She thrives on showcasing different aspects of language, culture, and humanity, believing in the transformative power of education.
As a seasoned educator, Sarah is dedicated to supporting new ISSI students. When asked for tips and tricks, she encourages students to attend as many ISSI breakout sessions as possible. They offer valuable opportunities for interaction and growth. Additionally, she encourages students to fully embrace their newfound Spanish skills during the program and to seize every chance to practice and apply what they've learned. And most importantly, Sarah emphasizes the importance of enjoying the experience, reminding students to have fun and appreciate the unique atmosphere and community that ISSI offers.

Brandon Scutt
Since 2018, Brandon has been a dedicated member of the ISSI family, beginning his journey as an instructor and now stepping into the role of Co-Coordinator. With a Master’s degree in Spanish Literature and 15 years of experience in both high school and college classrooms, Brandon finds his greatest joy in helping students unlock new worlds through language. He is a passionate advocate for storytelling and full immersion, believing that education is most transformative when it feels like a true adventure. By integrating his love for music and film into his teaching, he strives to showcase the vibrant, human side of the Spanish-speaking world. As a seasoned educator, Brandon is committed to guiding students through the unique intensity of the ISSI program. When asked for his best advice, he encourages students to treat every moment as a chance for discovery, whether in a formal session or a casual conversation. He believes that the "magic" of ISSI happens when students lean into the discomfort of a new language and embrace the process of authentic communication.
