Remembering Lisa Maloff

Lisa Maloff, center, with LTCC trustees and administrators at the groundbreaking for the University Center named for herThe entire Lake Tahoe Community College family – our students, staff, faculty, Board of Trustees and Foundation Board members – all share our condolences with the family and loved ones of our Angel of Tahoe, Lisa Maloff. Her contributions to our college and community are considerable, and we’re so grateful to her for supporting education in many deep and meaningful ways.

Her significant donation of nearly $6 million – the largest single donation in LTCC’s history - made the Lisa Maloff University Center (LMUC) and advanced degrees on the South Shore for our community a reality. Since opening in 2018, the LMUC has allowed students to remain in the community they love to complete their Bachelor’s and even Master’s degrees in areas from hospitality management to teacher education.

Mrs. Maloff then made programs in the LMUC more accessible to more people through another large donation that provides generous student scholarships to attend LMUC programs – an ongoing legacy that will continue to support college students for many years to come.

Yet another donation made one of our Coyote branded buses possible, which serves our students by providing transportation for cultural events, four-year campus tours, and much more.

Mrs. Maloff’s generosity has brought so much to our campus. She has inspired others to give as well, allowing LTCC to open the doors to higher education wider for even more students whose lives are richer for it. We wish the Maloff family solace, peace, and love at this difficult time.
