Some exciting news to share. Gov. Jerry Brown signed Assembly Bill 19 into law Friday afternoon, enabling California community colleges to provide a year of free tuition for the 2018/19 academic year.

Free Transportation for LTCC Students
Thanks to a funding agreement between Lake Tahoe Community College and the Tahoe Transportation District, currently enrolled LTCC students can now use their college photo ID cards to ride all local transit services for free through June 30, 2018.

Friday Deadline to Apply for DACA Renewal Scholarships
A scholarship fund set up to help young immigrants pay for their $495 Deferred Action for Childhood Arrives (DACA) renewal applications has now tripled in size, to $3 million. The deadline to apply for these funds is this Friday, September 29. The deadline to renew DACA status for those whose status expires on March 5, 2018 is October 5.
