Join LTCC in learning, exploring, and expanding your knowledge during Black History Month! All students, staff and faculty are invited to participate in a free college-wide Book & Discussion Series in February where selected books in common written by Black authors are explored and discussed in depth. Participants will gather throughout the month to regularly share thoughts about issues and themes covered in our readings.

Participating in this discussion series is free - we'll provide you with physical copies of the books we're reading. In exchange, you are required to attend diiscussion events either in person or virtually on these dates and times:

  • Friday, Feb. 4 from 12pm-1pm in the Lisa Maloff University Center. Prepare by reading The Mis-Education of the Negro by Carter Godwin Woodson.
  • Friday, Feb. 11 from 11am-12pm in the Board Room/library building. Prepare by reading the novel The Vanishing Half by Brit Bennett.
  • Friday, Feb. 25 from 11am-12pm in the Board Room/library building. Prepare by reading Me and White Supremacy by Layla F. Saad.

If you are interested and can commit to attending and participating in all or some of these sessions, please RSVP to join by completing this online form by Monday, January 24! Students are strongly encouraged to join us - we want to hear your thoughts!
