Join us for a fun book launch and reading featuring several LTCC alumns! The Writers' Series welcomes a trio of authors who contributed pieces to Permanent Vacation Volume 2: Eighteen Writers on Work and Life In Our National Parks, on Wednesday June 13 at 7pm in LTCC's Board/Aspen Room, located in the library building.
This is the first book to be published by Bona Fide Books, located in nearby Meyers, since it was purchased by LTCC alumn Maeko Bradshaw. The book features several writers who are also LTCC alumns. This event is free and all are welcome to come out and support our local press and writers!
In Permanent Vacation: Volume 1, writers shared tales of grizzly encounters and streaking through Denali, personal relationships with temperamental elk in Yellowstone, and on finding beauty in housekeeping in Yosemite. Permanent Vacation Vol. 2 explores even more stories from people who have a deep connection to our national parks. Join the authors as you kayak through the Everglades with incognito alligators, learn the ways of the ancient Hawaiian tribes at Pu’uhonua o Hōnaunau, and explore the friendship of a stubborn yet affectionate mule who spends his days at the Chesapeake & Ohio Canal. This collection of essays will grab you by your hiking boots and lead you through some of our nation’s most beautiful places!
