UndocuJoy: Shifting the Perspective in Undocumented Representation

Roberta L. Mason Library

One College Drive
South Lake Tahoe, CA 96150
United States

While the media focuses on gloom & doom narratives concerning undocumented immigrants in the U.S., there is a more insightful, truer look at who the undocumented are. Join poet Yosimar Reyes for a fresh look at undocumented artists who are resisting those narratives of fear and "other," and are instead creating works that lead to hope. Reyes will explore the ideas of agency and allowing undocumented people to exist beyond the incomplete, overly simplistic narratives and stories we typically see about undocumented people.

Join us on Wednesday, Oct. 5 from 12-1pm in the Roberta Mason Library's reading room for a powerful experience with Yosimar! All are welcome to join this free event.
