Special AdmissionThe special admission process has been designed in coordination with the local high school to serve the needs of students within South Lake Tahoe and nearby areas. Students enrolled in grades 9-12 must be recommended by their counselor for special student status at the College to take advanced scholastic and/or vocational courses. The recommendation is subject to approval by the college counselors. The form requires parental or guardian consent and meeting conditions of agreement with the school or school district. Some courses may have restrictions based on age, grade level or assessment standards. Steps to EnrollAs a general rule, no students currently enrolled below grade 9 will be allowed to enroll in college courses. The 9th-12th Grade College Placement form is available at local high schools, the Student Services office or the Admissions & Records office. You may also download a copy of the form by clicking the link below. The "Steps to Enroll" provides additional information about the special admission process.
RegistrationHigh school students may register for courses beginning on the priority registration day for high school students. Please see the schedule of classes for specific dates. In general, registration for high school students in handled on a walk-in basis after having completed a counseling appointment. If a student meets with a counselor at least two business days in advance, the student may be able to register online via Passport.
