LTCC Theatre - Come out and Play! 2012-2013 SEASON Winter Quarter 2013
Spring Quarter 2013 The Lake Tahoe Community College Theatre Arts Department announces auditions for the Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning musical phenomenon, “RENT,” book, music and lyrics by Jonathan Larson, directed by Susan Boulanger, musical direction by Mark D. Williams, and choreography by Kelly Alvarez. Auditions will be held Monday, February 4 at 7:00 p.m. in the Duke Theatre. Callbacks will be Saturday, February 9 at 12:30 p.m. We are seeking an ethnically diverse cast of strong singers and actors who are comfortable with rock, pop, and gospel music. All actors are required to sing from the show. Please see the Theatre Department callboard or Facebook page (LTCC Theatre Arts) for song information and requirements. A short dance audition will follow the vocal audition. Rehearsals are Mondays through Thursdays beginning April 8. Performances are June 14-23. Set in New York City’s East Village, "RENT" follows the lives of a group of impoverished young artists and musicians as they struggle to survive and create in New York’s Lower East Side in the thriving days of Bohemian Alphabet City, under the shadow of the AIDS epidemic. "RENT" is a pop culture phenomenon about love, friendship, finding your voice, and living for today.
