Real Estate
The Real Estate program at Lake Tahoe Community College is designed to meet the needs of students and the community by developing the professionalism and competency required in the real estate profession. It provides the student with a solid background in real estate principles and practices and this knowledge may be used in a real estate career, or in the pursuit of acquiring or selling real estate as a consumer.
Program Goals and Objectives
- Prepare students for an entry-level real estate salesperson position. An essential element of this objective is the preparation of students to pass the California real estate salesperson license examination. Successful completion of California Real Estate Principles (RES151) is required for California licensure as a real estate salesperson and to apply for the state salesperson examination.
- Provide continuing education courses that will allow students to qualify for renewal of their salesperson's licenses.
- Provide education on the topic of real estate that will allow community members to become more informed consumers.
Student Learning Outcomes for this program are:
- Obtain a passing score on an exam that parallels the salesperson's licensing exam for the California Department of Real Estate.
- Obtain a passing score on an exam that parallels the broker's licensing exam for the California Department of Real Estate.
- Obtain a passing score on an exam that parallels the appraisal licensing exam for the California Department of Real Estate.
