President's Office

Dr. Murillo

Welcome to Lake Tahoe Community College (LTCC). We are a college community that is dedicated to the overall well being of our students and our local community. Our college has a reputation of focusing on student success, and committing to the economic development of our local community.  The increased complexity of our local community, state, nation, and world creates new and exciting challenges as you prepare to achieve your goals.  At LTCC we are here for you to help you navigate this complex and dynamic environment.

Our distinguished and talented faculty has demonstrated over the years their passion for student learning and developing the whole person. The dedicated staff will ensure ease of scheduling classes, assistance with financial aid, and a safe college campus that will create a learning experience and environment that will allow you to achieve your college goals.

As I begin my second year at LTCC, the challenges in higher education are escalating. Not only is the cost of a college degree becoming a barrier to economic mobility, the reductions in state budgets are transforming all public higher education institutions. We have experienced challenges here at LTCC, with the implementation of our new registration system to reducing budgets and complying with major changes in state legislative laws.

We are dedicated to all our students learning the skills to work in the new competitive globalized economy and to meeting the needs of our community. When you leave us you will be prepared with critical thinking skills, the ability to communicate verbally and in written word, and with the skills to operate in the workforce. Student success is my number one priority and that includes ensuring that students that have been traditionally underserved achieve that same success.

We sincerely want you to find LTCC a place where you learn, feel valued, and grow as an individual. This college resides in a world class location with opportunities we hope you find time to investigate and that we believe will enrich your learning opportunities.

Sincerely,
Kindred Murillo, Ed.D.
