In addition to the standing Lake Tahoe Community College policy on probation/dismissal, students receiving V.A. education benefits must maintain a cumulative grade point average of 2.0 or better. Students who fail to maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or better after two consecutive terms and/or quarters will be reported to the U.S. Department of Veterans’ Affairs as maintaining Unsatisfactory Progress, and their V.A. education benefits will be discontinued. V.A. benefits could also be affected for students who stop attending a class without dropping and receive a substandard grade.

Students who are reported as making Unsatisfactory Progress to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs must receive counselor approval before recertification is possible. Contact the Admissions and Records Office for more information.
