Online Classes

WELCOME TO ONLINE EDUCATION AT LTCC!

Congratulations on your decision to take an online class from Lake Tahoe Community College! You will find that most of our courses are offered via Etudes, an online-learning program. Please use the information on this page to get started, ask questions, and learn if online education is right for you.

Step 1: Before You Register:

Make sure you are prepared to take a course online by reviewing the following:

         Admissions & Records - Registration information and student forms.
         Online Study Skills

Step 2: After You Register:

         Install: An Etudes-Certified Browser On Your PC

                   You MUST configure your computer correctly to take online classes.
                   Installation instructions for Firefox 3.5.14 can be found at
                   INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS AND DOWNLOAD
.

                   The Etudes portal Web page at Etudes portal provides additional browser options
                   under System Requirements.  Please note that Firefox 3.5.14 is the only browser
                   and version that is supported at LTCC.  You may use any of the Etudes-listed
                   browsers but you will not be able to receive technical assistance from LTCC.

Step 3: Getting Started in Etudes

         How to Login to an Online Class

                    Note: It takes 24 hours for your Etudes class to become active after you
                    register for an online class. Students are required to login to online classes
                    during the first week of the quarter to avoid being dropped by the instructor.

Student Notice:  Although you may be able to access your online course a few days prior to the start date of the quarter, complete course information will not be available until the first day of class.

Bookstore: Contact the Lake Tahoe Community College Bookstore to purchase the required text(s) for this course. Or contact Bookstore Manager at (530) 541-4660, ext. 227. Obtain your textbooks as soon as possible so that you are sure to have them in hand when the quarter begins.
