Men's Soccer Assistant Coach
Assistant Coach - Tomaz Marinelli
Tomaz Marinelli begins his first season as the assistant for both the Men and Women programs with the Coyotes in 2018, coming from the 2017 NJCAA National Championship contender Indian Hills CC in Iowa.
At his previous stop, Coach Tomaz was part of the coaching staff recognized by the
United Soccer Coaches (formerly NSCAA) as the North Region Staff of The Year in the
2017 season, after the program’s successful 18-3 season culminated in a National Championship
Tournament appearance and a final ranking as the #6 team in the nation.
Previous to joining the ranks of the college game, Tomaz worked in the Miami-Dade area at the club level for Cutler Ridge Soccer Club in Palmetto Bay, Florida.
Born and raised in Brazil, Tomaz has lived throughout South and Central America and the United States before landing in California. He has spent a pair of years in Costa Rica, his formative high school years in the Chicagoland area, and attended and graduated from The University of Iowa. He is fluent in Portuguese, Spanish and English.
His responsibilities at Lake Tahoe include the team’s Strength and Conditioning Program, development and daily work with goalkeepers, and International Recruiting.
Tomaz is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) by the NSCA, a certified Performance Enhancement Specialist (PES) by the NASM, certified CF-L1 by CrossFit, and holds an “E” License from the US Soccer Federation.
