LTCC's Theatre Arts Dept. presents the hit musical Godspell June 16-25 in LTCC’s Duke Theatre. With music and lyrics by three-time Grammy and Academy Award winner Stephen Schwartz (Wicked, Pippin) and conceived and originally directed by John Michael Tebelak, Godspell is one of the biggest off-Broadway successes of all time.
Godspell first took the world by storm in 1972, then went on to enjoy successful productions around the world, including a recent Broadway revival in 2012. Led by the international hit "Day by Day," Godspell features a parade of beloved songs including. "Prepare Ye the Way of the Lord," "Learn Your Lessons Well," "All for the Best," "All Good Gifts," "Turn Back, O Man" and "By My Side."
A rock musical based on the Gospel according to St. Matthew, Godspell follows a group of people as they help Jesus Christ tell different parables by using a wide variety of games, storytelling techniques, and perfect comic timing. The show offers an eclectic blend of songs ranging in style from pop to vaudeville, bringing the parables of the New Testament to life on stage. Godspell is a groundbreaking and unique reflection on the life of Jesus, with a message of kindness, tolerance, community, and love.
LTCC’s production of Godspell includes cast members Molly DeLallo, John Friedrich, Sharon Kerrigan, Thomas Lopez, Ellen Martin, Amanda Sanderson, Richard Sargent, Chris Taylor, Pam Taylor, Ashley Wallick, Saundra Whitt, and Jeff Whitt.
