This facilitated lab session targets individuals who are new or returning to the workforce and need to gather and organize prior work/volunteer/educational experiences, skills, abilities, and other related information for a master resume.  This session includes help with researching and documenting a timeline of experiences and descriptions for building a resume.  An afternoon Resume Open Lab is available as a great follow-up for those ready to start building on information gathered in the morning and tailoring to specific positions.

Track 2: Build Your Resume

Need to tailor or fine tune your resume?  This guided workshop targets individuals who come ready with a compiled list of prior work, volunteer, and educational experiences, skills and abilities, including a timeline of dates and descriptions.  This workshop is designed to assist with formatting, editing, language, and targeting resumes to specific employment positions.  Individuals should bring in an electronic or hard copy of their master or outdated resume and can expect to walk out with printed copies of a polished up-to-date version.

Track 3: Tailor Your Resume

Already have a great resume?  This is the session to make it shine! This workshop includes a guided resume review and tips on how to tailor your resume to a specific position. Individuals should bring in an electronic or hard copy of their master resume to follow along with the presentation.  Participants will walk out with a better understanding on how to tailor their resume to specific positions.

Learn how to prepare for an interview and how to present yourself during and after the interview. This workshop caters to not only the novice, but also to the more experienced interviewee. Learn the most recent information on what employers are looking for. No matter how many times you have interviewed, everyone can learn new tips on how to present your best self.

Join us for a free buffet lunch as you recharge for the rest of the day.  Watch as volunteers act out common interview situations.  Learn from their mistakes so you can put your best foot forward throughout the second part of the day.
Ask local hiring managers anything!  Utilize a fish bowl style question and answer session to ask what you have always wanted to know about hiring. Interested in what key resume words make the nonprofit industry swoon? Want to know what dish is the ultimate show stopper when interviewing in the kitchen?  This is your chance to ask.
